Our Story
Gboro Christ Castle Parish — Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace
Our History
Celestial Church of Christ – Gboro Christ Castle Parish was established by the grace of God in Greensboro, North Carolina. From its earliest days, this parish has been a beacon of light in the community — a place where the Word of God is preached without compromise, where prayer is a way of life, and where every soul is welcomed with open arms.
The Celestial Church of Christ is a worldwide Pentecostal church founded by the late Reverend Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa in Porto Novo, Benin Republic in 1947. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the church has grown into a global family with parishes across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and beyond. The Gboro Christ Castle Parish carries this rich heritage forward — faithfully serving the Greensboro community with the same fire, holiness, and love that has defined the church for generations.
"A family rooted in holiness and excellence"
Our Mission
"To worship God in spirit and in truth, to preach the undiluted Word of God, to pray without ceasing, and to love and serve our community — bringing every soul into a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ."
Our Vision
To be a Spirit-filled community that transforms lives, strengthens families, and advances the Kingdom of God in Greensboro and beyond.
What Drives Us
We are called to live set apart for God — in purity of heart, mind, and conduct. Holiness is not a burden but a privilege and a reflection of God's own character.
The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. It is our final authority for faith, doctrine, and daily living. We study it, preach it, and live by it.
We believe in the transforming power of prayer. God hears, God answers, and God moves on behalf of His people. Prayer is the heartbeat of our church.
True worship is a lifestyle of surrender and praise offered in spirit and in truth. We honor God through song, prayer, and the way we live every day.
We are called to love one another, bear each other's burdens, and grow together as the family of God. No one walks alone in this church.
We honor God by pursuing excellence in all we do — in worship, service, and how we represent His kingdom in Greensboro and the world.
What We Believe
Our beliefs are grounded in the Holy Scriptures and the foundational doctrines of the Celestial Church of Christ. We hold fast to the faith once delivered to the saints.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal, co-eternal, and co-existent.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by works — and that all who repent and believe are born again by the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, evidenced by spiritual gifts including speaking in tongues, prophecy, healing, and other gifts as the Spirit wills.
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God — the complete and final revelation of His will for humanity.
We believe in the literal, personal, and imminent return of Jesus Christ to establish His eternal kingdom and judge the living and the dead.
We observe water baptism by immersion as an outward sign of inward faith, and Holy Communion as a memorial of Christ's sacrifice and a proclamation of His return.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead — the saved to eternal life with God, and the unsaved to eternal separation from Him.
